Traditional Archery And Target Panic: Short Draw

Drawing your bow an inch or two short of full draw is another form of target panic. The short draw is just one of the many compensations traditional archers will try in an effort to shoot with target panic. They are unable to make a full draw because doing so will trigger an overwhelming urge to loosen the arrow, forcing them to release early, flinch, shake, freeze, or experience any number of other related symptoms. So they are resigned to shooting weak and less accurate shots. A short draw is a clear indication that there are demons lurking just beyond those couple of inches.

Marathon Training Schedule Tips For Beginners

Finding the right marathon training schedule for a beginning runner is hardly a new problem. The LaSalle Chicago marathon, which is one of the world’s largest with over 60,000 runners, usually has around 40% first time marathoners cross the starting line each fall.

For first timers, a marathon training schedule that creates confidence in your running ability is as essential as any other part of the program. A program that drags you out of bed while still sore from the previous day, will only hurt your confidence in your training. The marathon is an endurance event, and therefore has a huge mental aspect as well as physical.

Celebration, Regret, And Remorse

Recently, three events occurred that forced me to experience celebration, regret, and remorse. And as I thought about each one of them, I was able to draw a lesson from each one of them.

Celebration - My teammate, good friend and role model, Mike Fowler, gave an outstanding performance at the ADCC 2007. Mike was able to win two matches against two BJJ legends (Renzo Gracie and Saulo Riberio). This was an amazing accomplishment and I was very happy for and proud of Mike. The lesson here is Mike proves what hard work, commitment to a system, getting a coach, and actually listening to him (unlike me for many years) will do for you. Congrats Mike on an excellent performance and keep up the good work!

Saving Horses

Saving a Horse

There are many equestrians around the United States and in foreign countries. Some compete with their animals and some just ride for fun. However, most probably do not know about the cruelty that is happening throughout the equine industry.

Boston Red Sox Tickets - The Best Of The Best

There’s a reason why Boston Red Sox Tickets are so much in demand today. Not only do the Red Sox have a history of great baseball but they are also one of the strongest teams on the field today. After clinching the World Series in 2004, the current Red Sox team certainly looks ready to make a grab for the title once again.

The Red Sox are part of the major league and are affiliated with the American League and the East Division. The team is well known for its rivalry with the New York Yankees and plays its home games in the famous Fenway Park, which was opened in 1912. This makes it the oldest major league ball park that is still operational.

Iowa Pheasant Hunting - What An Experience!

The ring-necked pheasant, native to Asia, was introduced to Iowa about 1900 after being successfully introduced to the North American continent in 1881.

Their introduction to Iowa was the result of a storm that destroyed the pens of breeder William Benton of Cedar Falls, freeing about 2,000 pheasants into the wild.

In 1910 the Department of Natural Resources began stocking the birds and today the ring-neck pheasant has become the premier game bird of Iowa

The combination of Iowa’s grasslands and croplands makes the state one of the top pheasant harvesting areas in the country. Many retailers refer to Iowa as the pheasant hunting capitol of the nation, making Iowa pheasant hunting an important part of the state’s economy

Traditional Archery And Target Panic: Rotational Aiming

Throughout my maddening two-year struggle with target panic, I sought to fix my problem with a long list possible cures. Some were suggested to me, some I read about in books and articles, and the rest were original ideas based upon my own understanding of target panic. I firmly believe target panic is a learned behavior developed through the act of shooting your bow over and over again. This repetition, over time, causes us to release the arrow sooner and sooner. The target acts as a stimulus and our response upon bringing our bow on target is to release immediately. Apprehension over shooting in front of others or in pressure situations tends to exacerbate the problem. The feeling of target panic is an overwhelming urge to shoot resulting in a loss of mental and physical control of the shooting process.

6 Things To Consider In Bowling Shirt Designs

Go to any bowling alley across the country or even around the world on regular league nights and there’s one thing that’s sure to stand out from all else. That thing? The bowling shirt.

Created to help differentiate one team from another, the bowling shirt does along with this sport as much, and sometimes even more, than the balls, shoes and even the lanes themselves. The importance of a great bowling shirt design should not be discounted.

What Is Cadence?

When cyclists talk about cadence they are referring to the number of revolutions that they crank makes each minute as the pedals are turned. This in layman’s terms simply is the speed at which the cyclist pedals or turns the pedals on the bike as they ride.
