Book Publishing, Why Rich Authors Self Publish

Would you rather…write a book and give it to someone else to sell who will take 85% of the profits
Or

Write a book and make 100% of the profits using the same tools to sell your book as a mainstream publisher. Broke authors can make money from traditional publishing royalties but the chances of getting rich are almost the same chances as winning a lottery.
More importantly it is easier to directly target your audience as a self publisher. Main stream publishers throw spaghetti on the wall and hope something sticks. You know who your audience is and reaching them is so much easier.

Community Speaking

Using credible, influential speaking has always been an essential part of her job. You see, she as a business analyst. Unlike several people in her line of work, she got concerned in it not because of her love of explanation or social relations, but because of her analytical skills which she wished to pertain to other people’s business problems.

Book Publicity - The New York Myth

MYTH No.1
“To be a great publicist you need to work out of New York.”

Please do not be deceived. Regardless of location, when it comes to running a national
publicity campaign all book and literary publicists work one-on-one with contacts across
the entire country via telephone, email, post and fax. Book and literary publicity is one of
the rare business endeavors unaffected by the location, location, location factor.

Overall, a pricey upper east side address is good for a publicists business, not necessarily
an authors. Sharing zip-codes with large publishing houses makes it easier for a book or
literary publicist to acquire a continuous flow of new authors for themselves.

A Compelling Word To Write

When I was a young kid, my favorite television shows were Spiderman and Gilligan’s Island. I would have the same dream night after night that I was trapped on Gilligan’s Island and Spidy was out to get me. I’d wake up tangled in the sheets every time. In the dream, it wasn’t sheets, but Spiderman’s web. As a child, that was compelling and gripping to me. Today I write on many subjects, mostly finance, investing, and the subject of writing in general. Each subject I write about is compelling and interesting to me.

Holding A Teleseminar To Promote Your Business - What You Need To Know To Have Your Own Teleseminar

Today I held my first teleseminar! The people on the call didn’t know if was my first one, or at least I hope they didn’t. But somebody had to be first, so I hope they felt honored if they knew. I had done two practice teleseminars before, but they didn’t count because I had no clue what to talk about on those calls. Today was different. I had an out and an agenda, and I invited about thirty people to listen to my teleseminar and six of them showed up. There is a replay line on the web site so I am hoping that many others will listen when it is convenient for them.
