Diagnostic Evaluation And Treatment For Depression

If a physical cause for the depression is ruled out, a psychological evaluation should be done, by the physician or by referral to a psychiatrist or psychologist.

A good diagnostic evaluation will include a complete history of symptoms, i.e., when they started, how long they have lasted, how severe they are, whether the patient had them before and, if so, whether the symptoms were treated and what treatment was given. The doctor should ask about alcohol and drug use, and if the patient has thoughts about death or suicide. Further, a history should include questions about whether other family members have had a depressive illness and, if treated, what treatments they may have received and which were effective.

Three More Depression Fighting Herbs

Most of us feel sad, miserable or ‘down in the dumps’ sometimes. We can feel like this when someone we love has died or moves away or we have lost a job or our home or have difficult things or circumstances to cope with. Usually, these feeling become less intense over time — especially, when other good things are happening in our life. However, when these feeling of being sad or down are intense and persistent and stop us from doing the things that we would normally do then it is likely that we have a depressive illness.

Dream Symbols And Their Revelation

When I was in the last year of high school, our professor from the college prep encouraged me to continue writing my literary book “The philanthropic beggar,” and he even told me that he would help me publish it because he knew many editors since he had published three books about the Portuguese (Brazil) language, but I didn’t believe he would really help me.

At the afternoon some day, when I was thinking a lot about this matter I even had the idea to see perhaps an answer in a dream if this was possible… What would Mr. Valentim do for my book?

Dream Interpretation And The Darkness Of Ignorance

Common people don’t consider dreams as important manifestations of our psychology and of course, they cannot imagine that the information we can obtain through dream interpretation surpasses our expectations.

However, I feel that I have the moral obligation to explain that they must care for their dreams as much as they care for their daily lives, because the dreams’ messages give them a map, while they live in the darkness of ignorance, surrounded by infinite hidden dangers and their daily life depends on their decisions and actions.

How can they act in the darkness and avoid the dangers they cannot see?
