Divorce is a word that most people don’t like, but that everybody knows. One thing that is frequently a result of a divorce is the sale of a family home. In a traditional litigated divorce, the home sale can get pretty messy and ugly. The divorcing parties often fight about price, how to show, who will occupy the residence, etc. The outcome many times is not one that maximizes value for the divorcing parties.

Telford Divorce Solicitor Nadia Davis, who heads the Family Law Team at Martin-Kaye Solicitors Shropshire advises that “Although on the face of it, the self-help divorce package seems like a cheap option, it could cost couples dearly in the future.”
“DIY divorces can work well for cases where there are no children or assets from the marriage involved, but they are generally not suitable for more complicated cases.”
Nadia said many divorcing couples did not realise that even when there has been a Decree Absolute, both partners still have the right to pursue financial claims arising from the marriage – and this process can continue until they get remarried or die.

This is not just Hollywood where a typical marriage is almost a farce and the typical Hollywood marriage time is measured in weeks and months instead of years and decades. This is a serious threat that is going on throughout the entire nation.
